2024-25 U10-U18 Rep Hockey Tryouts and Registration
Attention all Owen Sound Minor Hockey Members!

Don't put all of that gear away just yet! Get ready to lace up your skates and hit the ice because we have some exciting updates regarding the 2024-25 U10-U18 rep hockey season!

Tryouts are just around the corner!

Mark your calendars!  Tryouts for the 2024-25 “U10-U18” Representative hockey teams have already been scheduled and are taking place this May. Specific dates and times have been added to the organization calendar for your convenience. Make sure to consult the 2024-25 Division Calendar for all scheduled ice times for the team you wish to try out for.

Registration:

To participate in the upcoming body checking clinics, pre-skates, and tryouts, all OSMHG players must register online through the HCR/Spordle system. When registering, please select "Skip the registration selection" to access options for Body Checking Clinics and Tryouts. Registration for Pre-Skates, Tryouts, and Body Checking clinics for U10-U18 players is now open and can be completed through this LINK.

**Please note that full player registration for the season will open only after the tryout process has concluded.

Body Checking Clinics:

For players new to body contact, we have scheduled Body Checking clinics on April 11th and April 22nd. These clinics are open to all players wishing to try out for a division U14 and above, and must be completed before tryouts to ensure eligibility.  These clinics are also open to our Local League players wishing to learn this skill to offer them the most safety in the game.

Pre-Skate Sessions:

Prior to the official tryouts, we are offering pre-skate sessions for each division. Although these sessions are optional, they are intended to refresh players' skills and provide them with the opportunity to get back on the ice before the evaluation process begins. It's important for all participants to take advantage of these pre-skate sessions to ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming tryouts. Please note that these sessions are not tryouts but rather an opportunity for players to shake off the rust and get ready to showcase their abilities. Be sure to consult the 2024-25 Division Calendar for all scheduled ice times for the team you wish to try out for.

Tryouts:

Each division will offer up to three tryout sessions, providing ample opportunity for players to demonstrate their abilities. It's crucial for participants to attend as many sessions as possible to ensure a comprehensive evaluation. Following the third tryout, selected players may have the chance to participate in exhibition games to further solidify evaluations and team selections. Keep an eye on the 2024-25 Division Calendar for specific dates and times for tryout sessions and exhibition games.

NRP Tryouts:

For players eligible for Non-Resident Player (NRP) status, please note that tryouts are only available for divisions U12-U18. To participate in tryouts as an NRP, players must obtain an electronic NRP tryout form from their home association. It's imperative to have this form completed prior to participating in tryouts; players without this form will be unable to take part. Additionally, NRP players must complete the 2024-25 Non-Owen Sound Body Checking and NRP Registration, accessible through this LINK.

Additionally, NRP players must have either completed a Body Checking Clinic in previous seasons or indicate their participation in one of the scheduled upcoming Body Checking Clinics to maintain eligibility for tryouts. As well, our NRP participants are requested to confirm their attendance to pre-skates.

We encourage all eligible players to take advantage of these opportunities and prepare for the upcoming season. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
